The program is available to anyone who is undergoing a cancer diagnosis or active treatment. Additionally, the program will be open to anyone who is currently providing care for a cancer patient.
While there is no set time frame, this service is designed for the short-term, (six weeks or less). It is not meant to be replacement for regular, ongoing childcare.
This program will be open to children three (3) months through twelve (12) years of age. Drop-in day care will be offered at any of the nineteen day care facilities from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. After school programs are offered at schools throughout the city until 6:00 p.m.
Prior arrangements must be made by calling the Child Crisis Center, 562-7955. The space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. The Child Crisis Center is located at 2100 N. Stevens St., El Paso, TX 79930.
Program participants will be asked to comply with all YWCA restrictions and requirements.
This service is free of charge to eligible participants through the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation and the Estate of George H. Ball.
