About the Program *
The Patient Air Transportation Service (PATS) was established in 1998 to provide free airline transportation to cancer patients who are referred outside the El Paso area for evaluation, treatment, surgical procedure or further diagnostic study.
PATS is available to any patient whose medical treatment is unavailable locally and who has a genuine financial need as determined by their referring physician.
What is the qualification process?Upon written referral by an El Paso physician to a hospital or cancer institution in the state of Texas, the PATS coordinator will arrange and pay for round-trip transportation (patient only).
When may I apply for tickets? An individual may apply for assistance once a local physician referral has been obtained and an appointment with the treatment facility has been made.
Where does this service extend? The PATS program serves all cancer institutions in the state of Texas.
